A half-year work meeting of the company was held in Meeting Room 301 of Zhongtan New Materials on the afternoon of July 28 to review all production and business operations in the first half of 2025 and build consensus on overcoming difficulties, reducing losses and boosting profits. Branch venues were set up in Meeting Room 207 of Zhongzhou Carbon and Zhongzhou Lufeng office.
Senior executives attended the meeting. More than 150 participants including middle-level cadres, Party member representatives, team leaders, managerial staff and employee representatives were present. The conference was presided over by Liu Xipeng, Trade Union Chairman and Deputy Minister of General Affairs Department.
Chairman Liu Yongbo emphasized that all staff shall stay confident in China’s economy, keep optimistic about the carbon industry and maintain firm faith in corporate development, while avoiding blind optimism. Issues including high costs, sluggish sales, capital pressure and unsatisfactory product yield still restrict corporate survival and growth. He put forward requirements for work in the second half of the year:
First, clarify profit, ratio and dual reduction targets to steadily advance cost reduction and efficiency improvement. Solidly push forward loss reduction with targeted measures to boost sales performance, inventory management and production efficiency.
Second, consolidate responsibilities and prioritize implementation. Accelerate transformation and market expansion while adhering to the sales strategy of tapping end users, raising sales volume and stabilizing product prices. Foster company-wide cost awareness and cut procurement expenses. Select qualified carriers and optimize logistics routes to lower transportation costs. Optimize planning control to realize balanced production and sales, and uphold the management goal of high quality, high output and low consumption throughout all procedures. R&D shall follow market orientation and full-cycle management. Strict whole-process control and standardized inspection will consolidate quality guarantee systems. Refined cost management will be adopted to slash expenses in multiple aspects.
Third, strengthen compliance management to guarantee target delivery. Stick to bottom-line thinking on safety and environmental protection and align internal control with regulations.
Fourth, optimize soft environment and rebuild positive working atmosphere. Improve talent cultivation and personnel structure to build a sound talent development system with clear training, promotion and mobility mechanisms. Enhance cross-department collaboration and break internal barriers. Promote integrity construction and conduct regular warning education and risk inspection. Cadres shall improve professional competence and sense of accountability. Give full play to the joint role of Party, trade union and women organizations to better care for employees.
Feng Jun, Party Secretary and General Manager, delivered the first-half work report and arranged follow-up tasks. He acknowledged phased achievements in cost control and loss reduction, and pointed out arduous tasks ahead. Relevant requirements were specified as follows:
First, size up the overall situation, focus on core business and expand market share. Seize market opportunities to boost sales of profitable graphite products, retain long-term end clients and expand the market of special-shaped graphite products.
Second, abide by disciplinary norms and maintain integrity to underpin corporate development. Integrity is fundamental to enterprise survival. All employees must strictly observe disciplines and safeguard collective interests with strong responsibility and teamwork spirit.
Third, continuously advance lean management, standardized civilized production and rule alignment. Benchmark outstanding enterprises to optimize production procedures, control costs, lift product quality and labor productivity. Revise and improve internal rules in line with group standards.
Fourth, enforce accountability and secure work safety. Impose strict penalties on irregular operations, assign safety duties to individual staff and upgrade overall emergency response capabilities.
Fifth, leverage Party building guidance and care for employees to gather driving force for development. Integrate Party building with daily business and deliver considerate services to staff.
Sixth, keep learning to broaden vision and enhance comprehensive quality. The company encourages lifelong learning to inject sustained vitality into daily work. All staff shall spare no effort to fulfill annual targets.
Deputy General Manager He Yongkang and Zhang Gaofeng, Manager of Zhongzhou Lufeng Branch, reported detailed progress of production, safety, environmental protection, technology and quality in the first half year, and formulated key work plans for the next six months.
All staff shall stay committed to annual goals and face existing problems squarely. United dedication and pragmatic efforts will secure stable operation under compliance regulations and drive breakthroughs via innovation. Practical strides will turn development blueprints into reality, and persistent hard work will create a new development chapter for Zhongtan New Materials.
